Azadea Foundation celebrated 2016 Earth Day with the second edition of its inter-school competition; the Envirothon, organized with the full support of the Lebanese Ministry of Education and in collaboration with Zero Waste Act. The objective of the project was to expand on the Foundation’s mission to spread environmental education by encouraging more people to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste. As such the Envirothon was held at the René Mouawad, Sanayeh Garden on April 21st, gathering more than two hundred 10 to 11 year old students from 10 private and public schools in Lebanon. During the day, children learned how to work together on reducing waste and created various artworks from non-recyclable material.
